Ini dirancang untuk mendukung konektivitas superior, grafik, fotografi, daya dan efisiensi baterai serta membantu menetapkan standar baru untuk smartphone, tablet, tampilan head-mounted virtual reality (VR) mobile dan banyak lagi.
Snapdragon 821 diumumkan pada 2016. Alih-alih menggantikan Snapdragon 820, ini justru dirancang untuk melengkapi dan memperluas kekuatan kompetitif jajaran Snapdragon 800 Qualcomm.
